Grandma's Rules is a short first-person horror game with a 90s VHS look.

Grandma's away, and you're house-sitting her old place out in the country for four nights. The house is just as you remember it: floral wallpaper, a ticking grandfather clock, a TV that only gets one channel. Before she left, she taped a note to the fridge with four simple rules:

1. Always keep the basement door closed.
2. Don't open the door for anyone after 10 o'clock.
3. If the lights go out, go down to the basement and fix the fuse box.
4. If you hear noises coming from the basement, do NOT go down there.

Easy enough. Do your chores, watch some TV, be in bed by 11.

But the house doesn't feel empty. Shadows move where they shouldn't. Someone knocks after dark, insisting they know Grandma. And every night, the rules feel a little less like house rules... and a little more like a warning.

Features

  • Four nights, 8 PM to 11 PM. Every chore takes an hour, and something happens on the hour.
  • Grandma's house to explore: three floors, a dark basement, and a long dirt driveway out to the county road.
  • Lights matter. Rooms are pitch black until you flip the switch, and the power doesn't always stay on.
  • Visitors at the door. Peek through the peephole, talk to them, and decide whether to let them in. Choose wisely.
  • PS1-style visuals and VHS grain, with fully synthesized lo-fi sound.
  • About 30–45 minutes to finish, with a final night you won't forget.
